I have been working as a Makeup Artist in the Wedding Industry for over 10 years. I trained at the Academy of Makeup Scotland in 2015, completing the Introduction to Makeup Artistry Course. I knew from the start that I wanted to do weddings so I went straight into it and have loved every minute of it.
I created the Directory at the start of 2023, when I was receiving a large number of enquiries from Brides for venues all over Scotland. I soon realised that Brides who aren't from the local area don't know who covers that area or if artists travel or not. I started looking into other Wedding Directories that were available and noticed there wasn't anything specifically for Hair/Makeup and Beauty in Scotland.
When I started to create this Directory, my vision was for a site that was easy to navigate but most of all I wanted it to look sleek and modern (not a kilt in sight 😉 joking as obvs it's a Scottish Wedding site but you know what I mean). Wedding Hair and Makeup is so visual so I wanted to make sure the whole Directory looks good and appealing to Brides when they are searching for Hair and Makeup for their Scottish Weddings. I didn't want a cluttered site with venues, car hire etc.
