Bridal Makeup Artist Scotland
Choosing your bridal makeup artist is about so much more than finding someone who can create a beautiful look. It’s about finding someone who understands your vision, helps you feel relaxed and confident, and ensures your skin looks radiant from the first photograph to the final dance.
In this edition of our Meet Our Members series, we’re chatting with Donna, founder of Alchemé Beauty, about her journey into bridal makeup, the importance of skincare, her favourite Scottish wedding venues, and the beauty products she never works without.
Tell us a little about yourself and how you got started in the wedding industry.
I’ve worked in the beauty industry for over 20 years, specialising in both skincare and makeup.
Weddings became a natural focus early on because there’s something incredibly special about helping someone feel like the very best version of themselves on such an important day.
I created Alchemé Beauty as a space where I could combine my two biggest passions—bespoke bridal makeup and professional skincare—so every bride receives a personalised experience from the very beginning.
How long have you been working as a bridal makeup artist?
I’ve been working with bridal clients since the early days of my career when brides would visit the salons where I worked for their wedding makeup.
As the industry evolved and on-location bridal services became increasingly popular, I adapted with it. Today, I’ve specialised exclusively in bridal makeup for more than ten years and absolutely love being part of so many unforgettable wedding mornings.
What services do you offer?
I provide a complete bridal makeup experience, including:
- Personalised skincare consultation and skin preparation
- Bespoke bridal makeup, from soft natural glam to full glamour
- Individual or strip lashes
- A personalised touch-up kit
- Exclusive attention throughout your wedding morning
- Travel throughout Scotland and destination weddings
I also provide makeup for bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom, as well as grooming services for grooms and groomsmen. Alongside weddings, I offer professional skincare and beauty treatments from my studio.

Which areas do you cover?
I’m based between Edinburgh and North Lanarkshire and travel throughout Scotland for weddings. I also love working on destination weddings, helping brides wherever their celebrations take them.
What does your bridal booking process look like?
Once you enquire through my website, I’ll first confirm my availability before sending you my bridal brochure and pricing information.
If you’d like to book, I’ll provide everything you need, including booking forms, terms and conditions, and your invoice.
Your bridal trial is where the magic really begins. We’ll discuss your vision, test products, perfect your makeup look and create a detailed plan for your wedding morning.
On the day itself, I bring everything required to create a calm, organised experience—from professional skincare preparation and makeup application through to helping with those final finishing touches, including assistance with getting into your dress if needed.
What advice would you give brides choosing their bridal makeup artist?
Find someone whose style genuinely matches your own and who takes the time to listen to what you want.
Feeling comfortable and confident with your makeup artist makes such a difference to your wedding morning. When you trust the person looking after you, the entire experience becomes much more relaxed and enjoyable.
Do you have any favourite Scottish wedding venues?
It’s difficult to choose just one!
Some of my favourites include Dunglass Estate, Cairns Farm Estate and Glenapp Castle.
That said, every wedding venue has its own charm. I’ve worked everywhere from grand castles to beautiful lochside locations, and every wedding feels completely unique.
